This Cookie Policy is published in compliance with the requirements set forth by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the Italian Data Protection Code Legislative Decree 196/2003 and subsequent amendments, Provision No. 229 of May 8, 2014, and its subsequent clarifications, and the “Guidelines for Cookies and Other Tracking Tools” No. 231 of June 10, 2021, issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority.
The Data Controller, in order to comply with the principle of transparency, intends to inform the User about the definition of Cookies, which are files where websites store long-term information about a user’s browsing. More simply, a cookie is a text sequence that is deposited on the computer and profiles that device.
In addition to what is stipulated by the GDPR, the Data Controller fully complies with the provisions of the EU Directive 2009/136/EC, which requires informing users about the use of cookies and the methods for obtaining prior consent for their use. The Data Controller has already informed the User of the presence of tools for storing browsing data through the use of a cookie banner, and this notice aims to provide more detailed information.
The cookie banner mentioned above is also drafted in compliance with Provision No. 231 of January 10, 2023, issued by the Privacy Authority. This extended information on the use of cookies (hereinafter also “cookies policy”) is an integral part of the privacy policy available on the website. This section contains information regarding the use of cookies by the User. The cookie policy may be periodically updated, so it is advisable to consult this document periodically.
Definition of Cookies and Their Function
The Privacy Authority states that “individuals can be associated with online identifiers produced by devices, applications, tools, and protocols used, such as IP addresses, temporary markers (cookies), or other identifiers, such as radio frequency identification tags. These identifiers can leave traces that, particularly when combined with unique identifiers and other information received from servers, can be used to create profiles of individuals and identify them.” For this reason, their use must be defined since the information encoded in cookies can include personal data, such as an IP address, a username, a unique identifier, or an email address, but it can also contain non-personal data, such as language settings or information about the type of device a person is using to browse the site. Specifically, they mainly provide information to the site owner to personalize the user’s browsing experience by remembering preferences (e.g., remembering the language and currency set and recognizing the user on subsequent visits, etc.). Cookies are thus packets of information sent by a web server, in this case, from this website (hereinafter referred to as “the site”), to the visitor’s Internet browser. In this way, cookies are stored on the user’s computer to be transmitted to the website’s web server on the user’s next visit to facilitate navigation.
Cookies do not record any personal information, and any identifiable data will not be stored. If desired, it is possible to prevent the saving of some or all cookies. In such cases, the use of the site and the services offered may be compromised. To proceed without modifying the operations related to cookies, simply continue browsing.
Use and Purpose of Cookies
Our site may use different types of cookies and related technologies, each with a specific function.
This website may use, even in combination, the following types of cookies classified according to the indications of the Privacy Authority and the Opinions issued in the European context by the Article 29 Working Party of the GDPR:
– Technical Cookies: These are cookies that can be used without asking for the user’s consent, as they are strictly necessary for the provision of the navigation service. Technical cookies are usually installed directly by the site owner or manager and are divided into various types as explained in the following table:
– Navigation Cookies: Also known as session cookies, these cookies allow the site to function correctly from the first access, allowing content to be displayed on the user’s device by recognizing the language and market of the country from which the user has chosen to connect. Navigation cookies are automatically deleted at the end of each browsing session when the browser is closed. If you are a registered user, they will allow you to be recognized and access the services offered in dedicated areas.
– Functional Cookies: These cookies allow, based on the user’s explicit request, to recognize the user each time they access the site so that they do not have to enter their data at each visit. They also allow continuing navigation on subsequent visits by retrieving selected items. Functional cookies are not essential for the site to work but improve the quality and browsing experience.
– Analytical Cookies: These cookies are used to perform statistical analysis on the navigation modes of users on our site. We process the results of these analyses in an anonymous manner and solely for statistical purposes only if the service provider uses cookies in connection with the browser used or on other devices used to browse the site. The site uses some third-party services that independently install their own cookies.
– Marketing, Profiling, and Third-Party Cookies: These cookies are aimed at creating profiles related to the user to send commercial messages that match preferences expressed during the visit or to improve their browsing experience. While browsing our site, these cookies are useful to show products of interest or similar to those you have viewed. Third-party cookies are sent by third-party companies we trust. These cookies allow us to offer our commercial proposal on other affiliated websites (retargeting). We have no control over the information provided by third-party cookies and do not have access to such data. This information is entirely controlled by third parties as described in their respective privacy policies.
